Ein Mensch zu sein, bedeutet weit mehr als bloß ein zufälliges Produkt der Evolution zu sein. Ebenso bedeutet es mehr als bloß kultiviert über das Leben, die Welt und Gott zu philosophieren. Wir wollen hinter die Fassade und das oberflächlich Analytische blicken. Die Existenz in ihrer Gesamtheit als Anlass nehmen, um "filmisch über sie zu sprechen". Das ist unser Verständnis von "SHOW, DON'T TELL".

Creating art is more than just indulging in nice color and shape experiments designed as fun for intellectual elites. Art is there to bring people closer in touch with themselves. Film as art shows people beyond clichés and surfaces. For this we don't need recipes, but craftsmanship and aesthetic sensibility to merge form and content into a unity. Film is there to open up untapped worlds of the inner self. To entertain means: to make life bigger and deeper for a few hours than it presents itself to us in everyday routine. This is superelevated reality. The magic of film.

Kunst ist dafür da, um den Menschen näher mit sich selbst in Berührung zu bringen. Film als Kunst zeigt den Menschen jenseits von Klischees und Oberflächen. Dafür brauchen wir keine Rezepte, sondern Handwerk und ästhetische Sensibilität, um Form und Inhalt zu einer Einheit zu verschmelzen. Film ist dafür da, unerschlossene Welten des Inneren zu öffnen. Zu unterhalten bedeutet: das Leben für ein paar Stunden größer und tiefer zu machen als es sich uns in der Alltagsroutine präsentiert. Das ist überhöhte Wirklichkeit. Die Magie des Films.

Neither tricky camera movements, nor big budget, nor elaborate special effects can nourish what the soul longs for. Meaning is what creates emotion. Emotion is created by distinctive, unique stories that touch us directly and instinctively. Stories that are intimate and have inner greatness. Stories that cannot be fully represented by a headline or a personal data sheet. We want to move images to move feelings and thoughts. Feelings that grab you and make you still. The basis for this is a precise script waiting for the camera. After all, the poetry of a film travels through the heart into the head. And not because smart academics think the film is somehow politically important. A film stays in our memory through emotion. It becomes a part of ourselves because it is we ourselves who find ourselves on the screen. Our desire, our dreaming, our fantasizing. That is the true drama of good stories. Stories that we want to tell from now on.

Weder trickreiche Kamerfahrten, noch großes Budget, noch aufwendige Spezialeffekte können das nähren, wonach die Sehle sich sehnt. Bedeutung hat das, was Emotion erschafft. Emotion entsteht durch unverwechselbare, einzigartige Geschichten, die uns ganz unmittelbar und instinktiv berühren. Geschichten, die intim sind und innere Größe haben. Geschichten, die nicht durch eine Schlagzeile oder einen tabellarischen Lebenslauf vollständig abgebildet werden können. Wir wollen Bilder bewegen, um Gefühle und Gedanken zu bewegen. Gefühle, die einen ergreifen und still werden lassen. Die Grundlage dafür ist ein präzises Drehbuch, das auf die Kamera wartet. Die Poesie eines Filmes wandert schließlich über das Herz in den Kopf. Und nicht weil schlaue Akademiker meinen, der Film sei irgendwie politisch wichtig. Ein Film bleibt durch Rührung in unserem Gedächtnis. Er wird ein Teil von uns selbst, weil wir selbst es sind, die sich auf der Leinwand wiederfinden. Unser Begehren, unser Träumen, unser Phantasieren. Das ist das wahre Drama guter Geschichten.
